Divisibility test of numbers


Divisible by 1:- Any number is divisible by 1.

Example:- 1, 2, 5, 8, -2, 0,.....etc.


Divisible by 2:- Any number is said to be divisible by 2 when the digit of the unit’s place  of that number is 2 or the multiple of two.

Example:- 332, 4454. 8906,....etc.


Divisible by 3:- Any number is said to be divisible by 3 when the sum of the digits of that number is a multiple of 3.

 Example:- 45, 33, 5556711, …..etc.

Divisible by 4:- A number is said to be divisible by 4 when the number formed by the last digits of that number is divisible by 4.

Example:- 544, 532, 777788, 9924,..etc.


Divisible by 5:- A number is said to be divisible by 5 when the unit’s place digit of that number is either 0 or 5.

Example:- 4455, 670,67785,....etc.


Divisible by 6:- A number is said to be divisible by 6 when that number is divisible by both 2 and 3.

Example:- 42, 36, 78, 9912,... etc.


Divisible by 7:- A number is said to be divisible by 7 when the difference between the  twice of the digit at unit’s place and the number formed by other digits is either zero or multiple of 7.

Example:- 882, 714, 875,...etc.


Divisible by 8:- A number is said to be divisible by 8 when the number formed by the last three digits of that number is divisible by 8 or multiple of 8.

Example:- 9088, 2344, 9672,...etc.


Divisible by 9:- A number is said to be divisible by 9 when the sum of that number is divisible by 9 or multiple of 9.

Example:- 675, 9378, 3024,....etc.


Divisible by 10:- A number is said to be divisible by 10 when its unit’s place digit is 0.

Example:- 670,77780, 330, 6700 etc.


Divisible by 11:- A number is said to be divisible by 11 when the sum of the digits at odd places and even places are equal or differ by a number which is divisible by 11 or multiple of 11.

Example:- 121, 1232, 1287, 583,....etc.


Divisible by 12:- A number is said to be divisible by 12 when the number is divisible by the number 3 and 4 both.

Example:- 144, 132, 1440,...etc.
